There is a time for Empire to fall. America is falling and unfortunately taking much of the natural world with it. I see it as the shaman’s and shamanic practitioner’s job to offer new paradigms for a new world, not to heal the dualistic one that is already beyond the tipping point of failure.

Thank you Tom, for this important article. As shamanic practitioners, it is part of our role to heal that which divides us as a nation and this is a wonderful beginning in this process. I love your proposed journeys

    In spirit,
    Ann Drake

Beautifully written, Tom. We need solid tools, journeys, and ways to deal with today’s conflicted world. I was told by a teacher many years ago that it would get difficult on the planet but that’s why we signed up. Thanks for helping to light the way.

From a western cultural perspective, Colonial Mindset, the perception of “scarcity” is a foundational stone upon which our society derives the operational protocols that formulates its AGENDAS. Competition emerges as the modus operandi. Cooperation is a distant distant last alternative, by choice. FEAR is the emotion that FUELS this human behavior.

Freedom to make choices is mistook for Free Will. The perceived “freedom” to make choices in western societies is driven wholly by mechanized thinking. Cause and Effect.

Experiencing “Free Will” requires a state of consciousness that is devoid of boundaries. An act of “free-falling” which is predicated on “surrendering” to the “Flow”. That Primordial Intelligence, LOVE, which is integral and permeates ALL that exists.

Trust that the Universe shall provide what we need, when we need it and SCARCITY evaporates.

Thank you so much for this beautiful article Tom. As a shamanic practitioner and a lover of Rumi’s wisdom, I am excited by your reflections on this “other field” as a state of consciousness that we can all move into and be the change in the world. I’m looking forward to working with your suggestions for working within this other field. As I read this, I was thinking that it would be interesting to journey to meet our president in this “other field” and have a conversation. I may encourage my students to do this too. Thank you so much for wedding Rumi’s wisdom with a shamanic practice in true Celtic fashion. Blessings of gratitude to you.

This is a great exploration into an area that offers great resources of healing. I appreciate that dualism is embraced and worked with, rather then denied.

My own contribution the conversation would be that, for me, it wasn’t until I finally figured out how to cultivate and protect the most precious parts of myself, that I was able to feel safe enough to hold the reserve necessary for such compassion. For this is what we are talking about, compassion. Staying calm and calling to the higher self of those I could be in conflict with is working wonders in my world.
