Shamanism Without Borders
Shamans throughout time have used special techniques and principles to tend to trauma and disasters, many of which are still very relevant today. Our Shamanism Without Borders program organizes shamanic practitioners, who through local and international web-based networks, can rapidly respond and tend to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, war, pollution, and anything that causes disruption and suffering to humanity, to the animal and plant life, and the earth’s delicate bio-system. This is a community of dedicated people who believe that in a coordinated fashion, they can assist and support healing in such events by applying long-distance and cross-cultural shamanic balancing techniques at no cost.
This program is supported by a network of Community Leaders who host virtual call gatherings as the needs for shamanic tending arise. If you are interested in participating in this program, please listen to the introductory audio below and consider submitting an application to join our leadership network.
You can also learn more by purchasing our handbook, Shamanism Without Borders: A Guide to Shamanic Tending for Trauma and Disasters.
Please Note: We are still in the early stages of launching our leadership network. More information on community gatherings will be available soon. Stay tuned!
Community Leadership Application
Thank you for your interest in serving as a SWB Community Leader. Strong applicants are expected to have an ongoing shamanic practice and some experience with facilitating groups. You will also need to setup a conference call line (we recommend Free Conference Call HD) and have a working email address prior to leading your first call.
Practitioners who are accepted as Community Leaders will be invited to complete a 1-hour virtual training. Following the training, you can begin hosting calls for tending to both local and global disasters. You will be expected to take some initiative in attracting people to participate on your calls. SSP will also support you in this by providing information on our website about your virtual gatherings, as well as maintaining ongoing promotions for the entire program.
