| About me |
I currently serve as a Foundation for Shamanic Studies Guest Faculty Member, who teaches online workshops in core shamanism.
I am a graduate of the FSS Three-Year Program of Advanced Initiations in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing. I also hold a degree in English and a California Teaching Credential from Azusa Pacific University.
I have an eclectic professional background, including a decade teaching high school English and journalism, a number of years working as an editorial assistant at a nationally distributed martial arts magazine, as well as 8 years “working the trades” in residential construction.
I have been happily married to my best friend for almost 20 years. We are “childless by choice.”
Until the volunteer program was shut down due to the pandemic, I was a hospice volunteer for many years. I cooked breakfast and helped feed patients in a 10-bed, 24-hour care facility. I also did weekly home visits to sit with bed-bound patients, so their caretakers (usually a family member) could leave for a few hours to get some errands done.
I host a monthly online community circle, where participants can practice the core shamanism journey method: repetitive percussion to activate one’s in-born spiritual sensing system, for the purpose of communicating with compassionate spirits. I use live drumming in a Zoom environment. (I’ve been a drummer since I was 15 years old.)
I also maintain an active shamanic healing practice. I offer healing work, for a modest fee, both in-person locally in my community, and remotely using modern audio/video-conferencing tools.
