Honoring the Summer Solstice

Led by Dr. Steven Farmer, Saturday, June 20th @ 1-2PM MDT

The summer solstice marks the longest day of the year for the western hemisphere and for millennia has been a day of celebration for many cultures across the world. The word solstice comes from the Latin words “sol,” meaning sun, and “stitium” or “sistere,” meaning still or stopped.

On the medicine wheel, summer is in the SOUTH and represents a season of youthfulness, emotions, light, fire, passion, and the darkness giving way to the full summer sun. It’s natural for us to be outdoors during this time soaking up the sun and also getting all the immune boosting properties of natural vitamin D.

Steven will guide us in a sacred ceremony to honor this direction and season at a time in our history when emphasizing the Light and honoring its strong presence is most needed.

The majority of our events are open to everyone in our community. Medicine Wheel Ceremonies are an exception; they are a benefit we offer exclusively to our members in gratitude for their ongoing support of our non-profit mission.
