SSP Member Monthly Ceremony: Dancing the Animals in the U.S. Detention Centers led by Tasara Jen Stone

December 22, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm MST

Free

Join us as we open the portals for a Great Animal Totem Dance, as we transport time and space, as we shake the rafters in the many detention centers across the United States.

My heart has been aching for the children, torn from their parents at the borders, for all the children in prison at this time and other times. Knowing that to perform healing for others without permission is not within my ethics, I journeyed to the spirits to ask what I could do. They showed me a Great Animal Totem Dance. They said, just come and dance. While you dance, invite the power animals of the children to dance with you. This will bring these beautiful spirits to life for the children who are open to it, who are ready and will not be afraid. It will provide them companionship and guidance in the darkness of their lives. Have fun with it! Have faith.

HOW TO PREPARE

Create sacred ceremonial space in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed by other people or loud noises. Make a small altar, light a candle and have your drum, rattle and optional totem masks available. Make sure your place is comfortable and warm and allow yourself to be fully present.

These new moon ceremonies are for SSP members only and provide an opportunity to participate in a Shamanism Without Borders process around a current situation or event that needs tending.

Each ceremony will be recorded and made available on the website following the ceremony for those who want to listen at a later time or more than once. An email with the audio recording will be sent out as a reminder.
