Join Board of Directors member Dr. Karen Ward and husband John Cantwell, co-directors of www.slianchroi.ie (www.pathwayoftheheart.ie) online from Ireland for a traditional Irish Celtic honouring of peak darkness at the return of the light. Earlier, both will have led sunset community ritual at Drombeg Stone Circle, West Cork one of Ireland’s well-preserved megalithic sites known as the Druid’s Altar. Dating back to the Bronze Age (circa 1100–800 BCE), this sacred site Circle has 17 standing stones arranged in a near-perfect circle and is aligned with the Winter Solstice setting sun. John and Karen will bring both an energetic and a literal flame of the ceremonial light from that rare moment to this SSP celebration. As we gather on the darkest day, there is a renewal of light in the world and ourselves. Make this cosmic turning point personally healing as Karen and John call forth ancient ancestral blessings that fortify mind, body and soul in the epicentre of mid-Winter.

HOW TO PREPARE

Create a sacred ceremonial space in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed by other people or loud noises. You may want to make a small altar, light a candle, and/or have your drum or rattle available, as well as paper and pen if you like. Make sure your place is comfortable, and allow yourself to be fully present.
