Shamanic Books & Audio

A New Paradigm of Spirituality and Religion

MaryCatherine Burgess

Grounded in a context of ongoing transformational change, this book presents the stories of various shamanic practitioners in Scotland, the relationship between their practice and elements of core shamanism, and how their shamanic practice is similar to, yet different from, sociologist of religion Danièle Hervieu-Léger’s definition of Religion as a Chain of Memory. It further explores how contemporary shamanic practitioners pass on a lineage of spirituality, as they embody a worldview/paradigm of an evolving global consciousness of inter-relatedness with all life – one that assumes responsibility as co-creators of emerging global spiritualities that reflect relationships with the ‘essence’ of the planet: the anima mundi, or world soul.

How to Use Our Books & Audio Directory

Our directory of shamanic books and audio recordings features teachings and guidance from many of the practitioners and teachers who are members of the Society for Shamanic Practice.

Because of our limited budget and staffing it is not possible for us to vet or screen each and every shamanic practitioner who advertises with us or whose name is on various lists held by organizations that advertise with us. Therefore we have established a code of ethics policy, which all individuals and businesses listed on our website agree to as a guide for maintaining the utmost integrity in the service they provide. Please review this policy and rely upon your personal discernment, as only you know what is resonant for you.
