Stepping Stones: An Introduction to Shamanism

April 14 @ 4:00 pm - April 19 @ 1:00 pm MDT

Transform Yourself While Transforming the World

In this retreat, we introduce the ancient, earth-honoring tradition of shamanic practice to the modern world. You acquire forgotten knowledge, wisdom, and skills while exploring what it truly means to be human. In this retreat you will:

  • Discover Your Soul’s Purpose
  • Learn Powerful Healing Forms
  • Become More Emotionally Resilient
  • Engage with Spirit through Earth’s Oldest Tradition
  • Transform Your Life with Ceremony and Ritual
  • Begin Walking with Confidence in the World

We introduce the following essential shamanic skills:

Shamanic Journeying
The essential skill of the shamanic individual. Learn to work with spirit guides and power animals and get tips for using journeying to bring hidden information into your conscious life.

Shamanic Breath Work
Managing our state of being not only makes shamanic practice more effective, it makes virtually all aspects of life more enjoyable. We learn how to be shamanic anytime, anywhere.

Shamanic Cosmology
Study the physical and energetic structure of the universe. What are the Upper, Middle, and Lower Worlds? How do shamans dream the world into being? What is the true nature of time?

Working with Helping Spirits, Totems, and Power Animals
Living a shamanic life means creating and nurturing relationships with entities in non-ordinary reality. How do you do this? Is it safe? Is it real? How can I use this skill in my life?

Personal Energy Self Care and Maintenance
We live in a universe built literally out of energy. As an energetic being, what skills are necessary to live a healhy and happy life? How do I protect myself from unhealthy energies?

Using Personal Shrines, Altars, and Ceremonies
What is the difference between shrines and altars? How are they used in a shamanic life? What personal ceremonies can enrich my life and improve my connection to spirit?

Personal Spiritual Protections
Just as you can become physically ill by catching a virus, you can become energetically ill without a properly functioning energetic immune system. You learn about and then receieve protective shielding.

Making and Using Shamanic Tools
Drums. Rattles. Bells. Whistles. Pendulums, Dowsing Rods, Stones and other objects found in nature. Shamanic tools, when used in the name of Spirit, become magical implements. You learn about tools and make a tool for yourself.

Shamanic Sand Painting
Learn how to create shamanic sand paintings from objects in nature. What can they tell us? How can they help you gain insight and confidence? How do you use them to work directly with nature?

Working with Nature at the Level of Spirit
Shamans believe that intelligence is present everywhere and in everything. How do you tap in to this omnipresent intelligence? How do you work with this larger community of consciousness?

We teach Peruvian shamanism with influences from Wicca, Tibetan Buddhism, and other major traditions. It is truly a global tradition and all of our curriculum is optimized for effectiveness in the modern world.
